DT HOUSE (English below)

De opdracht was om een ​​vrijstaande woning, gelegen in de 20e-eeuwse rand van Gent, om te bouwen tot een bijzondere woning voor een jong gezin.
We beschouwen de woning als een palimpsest waarbij we de niet-kwalitatieve elementen hebben verwijderd en nieuwe ruimtelijke ingrepen hebben geïntroduceerd die zowel eigentijds als doordachte materialisatie (verwijzend naar case study-huizen).

Het huis heeft zowel architectonisch als sociaal potentieel, met veel natuurlijk licht, een sterke relatie met de tuin, wat culmineert in een verbeterde levenskwaliteit. De nieuwe staalconstructie maakt het mogelijk om de verschillende afzonderlijke ruimtes visueel met elkaar te verbinden.

The assignment was to update a detached house, located in the 20th century outskirts of Ghent, into a special home for a young family.
We consider the house as a palimpsest in which we have retained the qualities in the existing fabric, removing only the non-qualitative elements and introducing new spatial interventions that are both contemporary and as a well-thought-out (referring to case study houses) materialization.

The house has both architectural and social potential, with plenty of natural light, a strong relationship with the garden, all culminating in an improved quality of life. The new steel structure makes it possible to visually connect the various separate spaces.
